EBM Research & Development

Research & Development

Milestones of the EBM Clean Energy Technology Development

1983

Completed a series of tests on small rotating permanent magnet units

1985

After test results from 1983-84 were compiled and deciphered, the base differential equation was solved.

1986

Established and staffed laboratories in Canada and USA for further refinement of the differential equation, the research and procurement of materials to be tested for introduction into the continuing research and development, including state-of-the-art metals and ceramics from the Laboratories in Houston Texas.

1989

Opened laboratories in England and Hungary. Teams of engineers, physicists and design personnel were assembled and assigned the challenge to create a unique and undiscovered geometry for the stator and rotor designs to be built and make the refined differential equation a reality that could be measured.

1992

The Otto EBM Unit

First Otto EBM

1st lab unit whose geometry showed additional torque on the shaft.

After 108 prototypes, the first EBM unit was produced in Budapest Hungary, the "Otto Unit". It weighed less than 80 kg, but exhibited the desired excess torque on the shaft of the unit that the differential equation promised. With the promise of this first demo unit, the entire team was consolidated in Budapest, Hungary, to continue the research and development.

1997-2002

The BB-Lego EBM Unit

The Otto Unit led to the BB-Lego Units, in which the weight of unit was increased by a factor of 10. Two of the four BB-Lego units were 2-pole units, while the other two units were 4-pole units. The results confirmed that the unique geometry did, in fact, produce extra torque on the shaft.

The test results of the BB-Lego Units led to C4/4 Unit. Once again, the weight of the entire unit was increased by a factor of 10, and the resulting testing data solidified the original data from the smaller units - there is unquestionably extra torque being produced.

Another increase by a factor of 10 in the weight of the unit led to two separate units called the 720 Units, named for the diameter of their rotors being 720mm.

Three different EBM Sized prototypes were built and tested over 100,000 man-hours:

BB-LEGO - (60 W)
(4 units)
Excess could be considered as measurement error, not excess power
C4/4 - (1.5 kW)
(1 unit)
1.5 kW excess power
720 - (10 - 15 kW)
(2 units)
15 kW maximum excess power

For all tests, the thermal energy of the units were carefully measured under load, and included in the total energy produced.

2005-2006

Fourteen types of EBM Units were designed to obtain manufacturing costs. Complete sets of drawings and specifications were produced in both Hungarian and English.

The SYNTECH Units are composed of available manufactured synchronous motors or generators manufactured by large international companies, for example:

  • Siemens (German)
  • ABB (Swiss)
  • Mitsubishi (Japan)
  • GE (USA)
And Gamma uses them together as driving units. A three phase generator is then attached to the shaft of these to be driven by the altered driving units. This unique method reduces the cost of manufacturing and assembly of the finished EBM units.

The following EBM Unit was built, its mathematical model tested, and is ready for scaling up:

SYNTECH (composed of 12 kW units at present time, eventually 25 kW - 1 MW)
